SCENARIO 3- MASTER BATH WITH TUB AND SHOWER (+/- 100 SF)

Overview

This scenario illustrates the costs associated with a master bathroom remodel with approximately 100 square feet. In addition to the initial consultation and design of the space, this bathroom will be completely demolished, plumbing and electric will be updated to meet the current code requirements, and each will be relocated as per the new design plan. Renovation will include a new custom walk-in shower and ceramic or porcelain tiles installed on the bathroom floor, shower floor, and shower walls. We will replace all the existing fixtures with new ones, including a new toilet, double vanity, lighting, accessories, faucets, mirrors, molding, and trims. Installation will include either a built-in deck mount tub or freestanding soaking tub based on customer preference. As an optional upgrade, customers may also want to explore a radiant-heated flooring system or heated towel racks.

A master bathroom remodeling project of this scope typically takes between 18 to 22 working days to complete.

Keep in mind that the costs listed below are just averages based on projects we’ve completed in the past. Before we sign a contract, we will visit your home for an in-home remodeling assessment, which will be followed by a detailed proposal and cost estimate tailored specifically to your unique project.

Material cost: $10,900 to $32,400

As previously mentioned, the cost of finish materials will vary greatly depending on the quality, finish, and manufacturer.

There are many fixtures and materials to be considered in a standard bathroom remodel. This project will include:

  • Plumbing Fixtures (Toilet, Tub, Sink, Vanity Faucets, Tub/Shower Faucets, Diverters, Rough Ins, Drains, etc.)
  • Tiles (Floor and Wall Tiles)
  • Glass Shower Doors/Enclosure
  • Vanity, Countertops, and Hardware

  • Accessories (Towel Bars, Robe Hooks, Mirrors, Medicine Cabinets, and Shelves)
  • Miscellaneous Items (Paint, Thresholds, and Grout)
  • Other Items (Radiators, Towel Warmers, etc.)

Based on a standard bathroom size, we estimate that finish materials will cost anywhere from:

(Mid-Range) (Mid-High) (High End – Luxury fixtures)
$10,900 $19,500 $32,400

Labor cost: $16,500 to $21,400

Labor costs include manpower, installation, debris removal, construction materials, and overhead.

Permits and Inspections Cost: +/- $700 to $950

A typical bathroom remodel requires permits for plumbing, building, and electric. Your city/township may also require a third-party electric underwriter for electrical work.

Permit cost will vary depending on your township fees, schedule, and the overall cost of the project.

It doesn’t happen often, but when something unexpected does come up, it is usually a hidden problem in the floor or walls. This issues can include:

  • Code violations that must be resolved
  • Rotten framing, subfloor, or joists
  • Plumbing Issues
