300 Year Old Kitchen Renovation in Philadelphia
Project Description
dRemodeling had the honors of working on this 300 year old historic Rock House home. The kitchen had been previously renovated, but lacked storage and light. The clients after recently purchasing the home contracted our team to provide them with options to achieve a better flow, more storage, and more light in their new kitchen.
To gain space, the existing island was removed in favor of utilizing both walls of the kitchen, and creating a peninsula area with seating instead to make up for the lost seating around the old island. The sink was relocated to under an existing window, much preferred by the clients.
The floor was tiled in a wood-look plank for ease of cleaning and maintenance, while the painted cabinets were featured in an inset panel door, with contrasting accent on the profiles. The light, marbled quartz counters paired with a calacatta marble backsplash lightened the space further, freshening the overall aesthetic of the room, while maintaining a period-appropriate feel.
